About The Tribal Title Services Team

Sarah Roubidoux Lawson has spent her career working in Indian Country. Her work centers on the complexities of Indian land issues, especially matters involving Indian trust land including leases, rights-of-way, and fee-to trust. Sarah is the President of the National Tribal Land Association, an organization dedicated to the education and professional growth of tribal land professionals. She is an enrolled citizen of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska.

Nichlas brings over a decade of experience working directly with Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities across the United States and internationally. With NTTS, he leads tribal engagement, helping tribal partners navigate land title services with understanding and respect. He has also designed and facilitated national training programs on tribal land issues, supporting Tribal leaders and staff in advancing sovereignty, land acquisition, management, and planning priorities, and community development. Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, he enjoys long runs, strange hikes, and time with his family.

Megan Powell is an Underwriter for the Tribal Title Services team, as well as the Director of Underwriting for First American Title Insurance Company’s Direct Division. Megan has over 24 years of experience in the title insurance industry, which includes various roles in title, escrow, claims and underwriting. She has worked for both agents and underwriters. Megan serves as Chair of the American Land Title Association Native American Lands Workgroup and Corporate Underwriting Sponsor of the First American Title Insurance Company Native American Lands Practice Group. She is a past President of the Washington Land Title Association as well as Chair of the Washington Land Title Association Native American Lands Committee.

Alexander works as Underwriting Counsel with our Tribal Title Services team. He has been working on underwriting in and around Indian County since he was an intern while in law school. As a member of both the Oklahoma and North Carolina state bar associations, Alex continues to grow his expertise working on Native American Lands transactions. He is driven to provide the best possible results for customers and enjoys working through the unique aspect of each transaction.

Leslie is an experienced Senior Escrow Officer with extensive experience in residential and commercial transactions, as well as complex traditional and reverse exchanges, reverse mortgages, and construction loans. Fueled by a desire to grow her abilities, she is inspired by the ever-changing landscape of the industry. Her drive earned her the DPK Circle of Excellence in 2016. When she is not working through files and training escrow peers, Leslie likes to travel and garden.

LaVonne found her passion early when she started part time in title insurance, and she has not left since. She brings over 36 years of underwriting knowledge to her position and the teams she leads. As a board member for Northwest Business Development Association, an SBA lender in Spokane Washington, she continues to stay at the forefront of industry knowledge. When she is not working, LaVonne is being the number one fan of her daughter’s adventures, including racing her Legend car.
